Overview

The University of Manchester is located in the north of England in the vibrant city of Manchester.  The University is amongst one of the largest universities in the UK, boasting a student population of approximately 38,000 students, with just less than a quarter being international students. The University is one of the 24 Russell group Universities, a group that produces more than two-thirds of the world-leading research produced in UK universities and support more than 260,000 jobs across the country. The University has more clubs and societies than any other University in the country and is sure to provide students with countless opportunities to make new friends and achieve their aspirations.

 

Services for International Students

A dedicated team is available upon demand to assist students with any requests that they may have. An airport collection service provides a warm welcome to students upon arrival, followed by an array of orientation courses to help students settle into their new university life. The University of Manchester has a full range of on-campus health facilities with doctors, nurses and dentists. All students have full access to the health centre and all health care fees are fully covered by the National Health Service for full-time students.

 

Accommodation

A wide range of accommodation is available to students at The University of Manchester. International students have the benefit of acquiring University-managed accommodation upon being accepted onto their course.

The University of Manchester is located in the heart of Manchester, one of the UK’s most energetic and bustling cities. The city is known for its influence on world music, science, textiles and business. Manchester was the first industrialised city in the world and since then, has blossomed to become the lively city that it is today. Manchester has something for everyone, museums, galleries, clubs, bars, restaurants, shopping centres, cinemas, and a historic cathedral. Manchester is also home to the famous Manchester Christmas markets, a popular event that welcomes masses of tourists each year during the wintertime.
